How to integrate third-party forms

You can capture external data from third-party forms and save them in FunnelBud Flow, allowing you to create a new contact, trigger automations, and more.

Here are 2 easy methods to integrate third-party forms to FunnelBud:

Method #1 (preferred): Send to a Webhook

If your form can send data to a webhook - for example: Gravity Forms, Typeform or any other form that support sending data to webhooks (see your form settings/details for this option) - you can create an automation that will receive the form data in FunnelBud to create or update a contact. 

  1. Go to Automations
  2. Create a new workflow
  3. Select Trigger: Inbound Webhook
  4. Copy the Webhook URL
  5. Open a new tab and go to your form
  6. Paste the Webhook URL at the designated location in your form
  7. Submit the form to send test data
  8. Go back to your workflow
  9. In the Inbound Webhook trigger, click Fetch Sample Requests
  10. Select the reference payload
  11. Save the trigger
  12. To create/update a contact, add Action: Create/Update Contact
  13. Map the contact fields to the corresponding payload fields. We recommend adding the form data as a note in the contact.
  14. Save the action
  15. Publish the workflow

From here, you can add other automations when someone submits the form.  For example, you can send an internal notification, assign tasks for follow up, send an automated reply and add the contact to a nurturing sequence.

Method #2 (if you’re more comfortable with Zapier): Integrate via Zapier

If your form doesn’t support webhooks, check if it’s available in Zapier.  If it is, you can create a zap to integrate your form with FunnelBud:

  1. Go to Zapier.com
  2. Create a new zap
  3. In the trigger step, select your form app
  4. Follow the instructions that Zapier will provide to connect your form
  5. In the action step, enter LeadConnector in the search field
  6. Select LeadConnector app
  7. In the LeadConnector settings, under Event, select Add/Update Contact
  8. Under Account, choose your FunnelBud account. If you haven’t connected your FunnelBud account with Zapier yet, please follow instructions provided by Zapier.
  9. Under Action, map the contact fields to the corresponding form fields in FunnelBud.
  10. Before publishing zap, test by filling out the form and run each task manually to see if you’re getting the correct data and if contact is created or updated in FunnelBud.
  11. Save and publish the zap.
